Grand Alliance of Chaos · The Ruinous Powers
Chaos
The daemon legions of the four Dark Gods, the Everchosen’s war-hordes and the verminous Skaven — bound only by the promise of power and the joy of destruction. Choose your faction, or browse the full Chaos range.
Know Your Realms
Khorne, Tzeentch, Nurgle and Slaanesh — every mortal vice given a god, and an army.
From daemon legions to the verminous Skaven, the servants of Chaos are without number.
Brass and blood, warpflame and rot — no Grand Alliance offers richer paint schemes.
The Lore
Chaos is the great enemy — the Dark Gods of the aether and the countless mortals, daemons and monsters who serve them. Khorne, Tzeentch, Nurgle and Slaanesh each embody a facet of mortal excess, and each hungers to remake the realms in its own image.
Once Chaos all but conquered the Mortal Realms; though Sigmar's storm has driven it back, its hordes are without end.
On the Tabletop
Chaos offers a style for every general — the relentless melee of Khorne, the battle-winning sorcery of Tzeentch, the unkillable attrition of Nurgle and the blinding speed of Slaanesh, plus the numberless hordes of the Skaven.

The Chaos Grand Alliance includes Blades of Khorne, Disciples of Tzeentch, Hedonites of Slaanesh, Maggotkin of Nurgle, Skaven, Slaves to Darkness and Helsmiths of Hashut. Each serves a different Chaos god or none at all, giving very different playstyles despite sharing the same overall allegiance in the Mortal Realms.
Blades of Khorne is built almost entirely around brutal melee combat, with units designed to close the distance quickly and punish anything they reach. Slaves to Darkness also fields strong combat characters and Chaos Knights, making both factions popular choices for players who want an aggressive, hands-on army.
Yes — despite often serving their own agenda, Skaven are classed within the Chaos Grand Alliance in Age of Sigmar. They play very differently from the Chaos god-aligned factions, fielding huge, cheap swarms of ratmen backed by unreliable but powerful war machines and warpstone-fuelled magic.
Slaves to Darkness is a solid starting point, with straightforward melee-focused units and no need to commit to a single Chaos god's playstyle straight away. Blades of Khorne is another beginner-friendly option if you know you want a fast, aggressive army from the outset.
Slaves to Darkness armies can include units and heroes with marks of different Chaos gods, giving some flexibility without fully committing to one faction. Dedicated god-specific factions like Blades of Khorne or Disciples of Tzeentch, however, are built around staying loyal to a single power for the strongest army-wide bonuses.
